One of the goals of Youth Ministry at St. Gregory the Great Parish, is to gather and engage youths to grow into responsible participants in the life, mission, and works of our Catholic community. Our ministry is not just about programs and events. It’s about fulfilling that need to connect, be in relationships and feel a sense of belonging. We want to empower our youths to live as disciples of Jesus in the world in which we now live so that become strong leaders and faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. Our ministry helps to stimulate our youths as they share their unique gifts with each other, our church community the entire community at large.

Dear Sisters and Brothers,
I am pleased to announce that Matthew Butler has accepted the position of part time Youth Ministry Coordinator for our parish, effective November 21, 2017.
Matt is a graduate of The University of Scranton with a B.A. in Philosophy/Theology and an M.A. in Theology. He is currently pursuing his school counseling degree at Seton Hall University. For the past eleven years, Matt has taught theology and physical education at Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, NJ.
Matt has been active in youth ministry for nearly a decade, serving as a Youth Minister at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Scotch Plains and organizing many local, national, and international service trips and initiatives.
As Youth Ministry Coordinator, Matt will be responsible for leading the GYM Youth Group by providing opportunities for parish teens to learn about their faith, build community with other Catholic teens, and serve others in the community. Matt will also develop a core team of adults to serve on a youth ministry advisory board.
