The Church of Saint Gregory the Great and the surrounding community recognize, value, and benefit from the continued dedication and contributions made by its volunteers. Under the direction of the Diocese of Trenton, we require all adult volunteers to be fully compliant before performing any service that may come into contact with our children and vulnerable adults.
WITH ANY QUESTIONS CONTACT:ST. GREGORY THE GREAT ACADEMY VOLUNTEERS:
If you wish to volunteer at St. Gregory the Great Academy, you will need to follow the Safe Environment procedures set by SGGA Principal, Dr. Jason C. Briggs. Please call the Academy at 609-587-1131 for this information. Volunteers at St. Gregory the Great Church should follow instructions on this page.
1. FINGERPRINTING
Complete a Criminal History Background Check (fingerprinting) through IdentoGO. Go to UEnroll.Identogo.com and enter Service Code 2F1J3Y. Your Contributor Case Number is TRE087
2. VIRTUS TRAINING
Attend an in-person VIRTUS Training session called Protecting God’s Children for Adults. Go to VIRTUS.org. First-time volunteers will need to create a User ID and password and follow the directions. Select Trenton, NJ (Diocese) and St. Gregory the Great Church (Trenton). Do not schedule a background check here since you already scheduled one in Step 1.
You will need to drop off a copy of your VIRTUS Training Certificate (you will receive this after attending class), your completed Information Sheet, and signed Code of Conduct to the Parish Office . You may also email them to [email protected].
Your Laminated Fingerprint Letter and Clearance ID card will be mailed to you after your fingerprints are analyzed and cleared by the Division of State Police. You are required to display your ID at all times while working with or near children and vulnerable adults. IMPORTANT: Please call the Parish Office if you do not receive your ID card in the mail within (3) weeks after being fingerprinted.
HOW TO UPDATE YOUR CLEARANCES
Do not create a new VIRTUS account if you have one. You may contact the Parish Office if you forgot your User ID or Password.
Log into your VIRTUS.org account. You will see eight labeled tiles. If the tile labeled ‘Background Checks’ is red (indicating it is expired), you may click on it and enter your information to have your fingerprints re-scanned without an in-person appointment.
Similarly, if you have attended at least one in-person VIRTUS Training and not more than one year past its expiration, you may call the Rectory and request an online VIRTUS Training Module Re-Certification to complete for renewal.
Note: All first-time VIRTUS Trainings must be in-person and all new and updated certificates (online or in-person) must be dropped off at the Parish Office.
Thank you for your service and for helping us comply with the requirements set forth by the Diocese of Trenton to keep our children and vulnerable adults protected!
