Today, December 3, 2020, we received word that Deacon John Isaac tested positive for COVID-19. He is doing well, and only experienced mild symptoms which he has since recovered from. However, it is our obligation to inform you that he did serve as Deacon on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at the 7:30AM Mass, and also at a funeral on Monday, November 30, 2020 @ 11:00AM. Any close contact during the Mass between Deacon John and parishioners would have been brief, with face covering worn, and hand sanitizer being used during the distribution making the risk of further spread low.
At this time, however, Fr. Marcin and Fr. Mike, having served in direct contact with Deacon John over the last week, will be entering self-quarantine, per CDC guidelines, pending the results of their own COVID tests.
We have been able to secure coverage for Masses for the weekend of December 5 and December 6. However, at the recommendation of the Diocese, and to allow us time to sanitize the Sacristies, daily morning Mass for Friday, December 4 and Saturday, December 5 are cancelled. We will keep you updated as to the parish and sacramental schedule for next week when we have more information.
Those who attend Mass are reminded to wear a mask and observe social distancing. Those who are hesitant or fearful because of COVID-19 concerns, not feeling well or with underlying health conditions or in a “high risk” category should remain at home. A person who has been in direct contact with a COVID positive person within the space of 6 feet for 15 minutes or more within a 24-hour period should contact their doctor or local health department, and follow the CDC self-quarantine guidelines found here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/quarantine.html.
