The Bishops of the United States called for a National Eucharistic Revival - a three-year grassroots revival of devotion and belief in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist (2022 – 2024). The movement launched last year on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ with widespread Eucharistic processions and adoration including here at our parish. On Sunday, June 11 our parish will have a Eucharistic Procession to celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. All are invited to attend the Noon Mass and join in the Eucharistic Procession here at St. Gregory the Great following Mass.
We will process behind the Blessed Sacrament, exposed in the monstrance, carried by Father Mike, around the parish grounds. There will be singing, readings and prayers to help us joyfully praise Christ, present in the Blessed Sacrament. We will conclude with Benediction in front of the Chapel. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to show how we follow the Lord in all we do.
The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life. Eucharistic Processions are an ancient practice that expresses outwardly our love of Christ present in the Blessed Sacrament, our desire to proclaim this to others, and our realization that this presence is not just for us, but for the whole world.
