For over 30 years, members of the SGG Parish and Academy, youth and adults, have travelled to Preston County, West Virginia to participate in its annual Catholic Church summer home repair program. Thousands have taken part in this project over the decades, providing home repairs for dozens of households in a region which never recovered from major floods in the early 1980’s and the collapse of the local coal industry.

In addition to the service given, lives on both sides of project have been changed for the better, and disciples both young and not-so-young, formed by this experience, have gone on to have their school, work, and personal futures positively transformed in ways which cannot be quantified. 

In recognition of the enormous legacy of service and formation at its heart, it is our distinct privilege to name St. Gregory the Great Project Appalachia as the Community Service Honoree at our St. Gregory the Great Gala to be held on Friday, February 28, 2025.


Jet Electrical Testing has been a valued partner in supporting the mission of St. Gregory the Great Academy. They have provided generous financial support for our major fundraising events, including the Carnival and Annual Gala.

For many years, JET Electrical Testing has been well known in our community as a premier firm supporting customers in the area of electrical system reliability.

For these reasons, it is our distinct privilege to name JET Electrical Testing as our Local Business Honoree at our St. Gregory the Great Gala to be held on Friday, February 28, 2025.

Mrs. Carrie Jordan (posthumously)

In memory of her role at both the Academy and as a catechist in our Religious Education program, it is our distinct privilege to honor the memory of Carrie Jordan as our Everyday Hero at our St. Gregory the Great Gala to be held on Friday, February 28, 2025.

Beginning in September 2011, Mrs. Jordan was assigned to the Academy as the Speech Therapist by both ESCNJ and Catapult Learning. During her time at SGGA, she not only assisted a great number of students in her academic role, but she was also one of the kindest and most positive individuals who plied the
hallways of the school. Her smile was infectious and she was beloved by students and staff alike. 

The St. Gregory the Great Parish community continues to hold dear to the memory of Mrs. Carrie Jordan.
