All Catholic students in public, private, and parochial schools grades 8-12 are invited to participate in the 2020 Knights of Columbus Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest hosted by the Saint Gregory the Great Knights of Columbus Council 7677.
Students are encouraged to write a 500 to 750-word essay discussing how trusting in God during a difficult time has helped them or someone they know find the strength and hope to endure it. Consider especially those times when it was a challenge to understand why something was happening. Consider also sharing any lessons about faith and hope the student or someone the student knows may have learned from this experience.

The student with the winning essay will receive a $50 cash prize and plaque memorializing his/her achievement.
Essays must be submitted on or before September 30, 2020. Essays can be submitted either electronically or by mail. If submitted electronically, copies of the essay, along with a completed entry form, should be emailed to [email protected]. If submitting by mail, please mail one hard copy of your essay, along with the entry form stapled to the back, to the following address:

Submissions by mail must be postmarked on or before September 30. Any material submitted after September 30, 2020 will not be reviewed.
All contestants on the local level are recognized for their participation in the contest. Participants also are required to furnish written parental consent.
