Posted 3/14/22 The St. Gregory the Great Annual Carnival is gearing up for another great week starting June 20 and running until June 25. While we always need workers for the event, this year we need to fill two roles with volunteers who have some banking and/or accounting experience.
ROLE #1– Manager, Ride Ticket Pre-sales – The role will fulfill the entire commitment for service hours at the school (if applicable). Basic of the role: Manage weekend ticket sales in from the Church for two (2) weekends and final Monday circle sales. Fulfill pre-sale orders taken from the school. Reconcile cash and check purchase for all tickets sold. Fulfill pre-sale orders taken from the school. Reconcile ticket sales from the rectory. Reconcile cash and check purchases for all tickets sold. Prepare reports outline sheets sold and funds delivered to parish business managers or carnival leaders weekly. Ticket sales will only be conducted on church or school grounds and there is NO travel to local shops that will sell tickets. Most of the work in this role occurs in the four (4) weeks prior to the carnival.
ROLE #2 – Finance Chair – This role is primary financial manager of the carnival and will attend carnival meetings, maintain Quick Books, prepare financial reporting, reconcile deposits and carnival checking account. Year one will be a shadow year with the current finance chair. Year two will see you take over support from other carnival leaders. Years three to six+ will be in your hands. YES, we are seeking a six-year commitment to the committee. The position covers all school service hours. A CPA would be a plus but not mandatory. Most of this work occurs in June with some accounting work through September. Each night of carnival is expected.
