Dear Parishioners:

This month, as Catholics, we have begun Advent, that wonderful time of preparation for Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Each year I am reminded of all for which we are thankful, especially in the shadow of the recent storms, and I am so appreciative of our wonderful faith community.

As has become our custom, this is also the time of year when I present my Annual Report to the parish of St. Gregory the Great. We are an exciting community, and these certainly are exciting times for us. As we continue to grow, our parish has much to be proud of as well as some challenges ahead. To help provide an overview of all that we do here at St. Gregory the Great and within our more than 60 ministries and activities, I have decided to again provide an expanded Annual Report. Following are the two sections which address both our finances and the “State of the Parish”.

A key element of the Pastor’s Annual Report is an examination of our fiscal health. In the report, you will see our Annual Financial Statement. This document details and compares the revenues and expenses of our two most recent fiscal years. To help summarize the information contained in the Annual Financial Statement, you will find some charts depicting percentages of the key areas of both Revenue and Expenses for the most recent fiscal year. Once again, you will see, quite starkly, that parishioner weekly offerings are the financial lifeline of this and every parish, and I have added graphs which illustrate how you, our parishioners, address your stewardship responsibilities.

Following the financial report is a brief summary of some of our past year’s activities. Because so much happens here in our wonderful parish, not everything could be included, so this is just a portion of the highlights. All ministries, components and activities were invited to provide input to this annual report, and I have decided to post their full reports on our website for all to review. Please take the time to read through this purposefully expanded Pastor’s Annual Report, and later this month visit our website to view the ministries’ full reports.

The sharing of your time, the talents you bring to our labors, and the trust you give in investing in our parish financially all affirm how wonderful a Catholic parish family we are. As Pastor, I am always grateful and moved by the level of support you give to our Church. Father Kimtis, Father Jay, our Deacons and the parish staff all join me in wishing you and your family a prayerful Advent. Thank you for all that you do to glorify God here at the parish of St. Gregory the Great.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

The Rev. Ian Trammell
Pastor
